A New Classic

Strengths: Fantastic story. Incredible special effects. Great acting.

Weakness: A tad too long in places.

Truly a magnificant movie. The best of 2005 and 2004 combined. The special effects are breathtaking! Andy Serkis is at his best as Kong (easily the best character of the film). This is one of those movies that completely captures your imagination (like Lord of the Rings). Many people complained about the length. The only parts where it really dragged were the dinasaur scene (still a very cool scene) and the final scene with the planes. But it's very easy to look past this considering how great this movie is. I'm definately looking forward to the extended edition (assuming Peter Jackson goes the same route as the Lord of the Rings trilogy).
