Vantec Spectrum Fan Card

Strengths: Improved air circulation inside my case. Used to directly cool my AGP card. Easy installation and very bright LED’s. Good price.

Weakness: Bottom side of fans are exposed and no off position for the fans

I must say I was very impressed by the amount of air flow these two thin fans can produce. Also the LED’s on this card are very bright. The Spectrum Fan Card does exactly what it is designed to do; move air and light up brightly. I did not experience any problems installing or operating the Fan Card. After letting the Spectrum Fan Card circulate the air in my case for 24 hours, I noticed a 2 degree temperature drop on my processor and equal cooling on the video card. Overall, I’m rating the Vantec Spectrum Fan Card a 10 out of 10 and would recommend it to anyone who would like better air circulation and lowered VGA temps at the expense of a PCI slot.

great product

Strengths: it really cool the system down a bit.

Weakness: none

this is a good buy to cool the system down. However, you will loose a Pci slot. overall, i like the performance of the card and it looks very neat in my armor case.

Vantec Spectrum Fan Card

Strengths: Moves a lot of air and lights up in the case.

Weakness: A tad bit noisy at anything above mid level for fan speeds.

This card installs very easily. Cools my AGP card directly and moves a lot of air in the case. It is a tad bit noisy at anything above mid way for Fan speed. Other than that It cools my system quite well....

Light up that dull windowed case##!!

Strengths: Purple/Blue LEDs Look Great, nice and long for those huge video cards, duel fans, controllable fan speed.

Weakness: At high speed it's noisier than my 5 case fans at full speed.

First off let me say I don't think my video card is a very good overclocker, and I think it's limiting my overclocks more than the fan card. with that said on to the review. I have a Powercolor Radeon 9600 Pro with a stock speed of 500MHz core clock and 600MHz(2x300) memory clock. Using ATI Tool The best overclock I could achieve without the fan card was 520MHz core and 630MHz memory. The best with the card was 525MHz core and 636MHz memory, but I noticed artifacts when I played the Battle Field 2 Demo. My case is well ventilated with two 80mm fans and two 90mm fans and a 90mm CPU fan. I've heard from other reviewers that well ventilated cases don't get as good of results as poor ventilated cases with this card. So for me, this card is more for looks than performance, but I'm sure my GPU temperature is lower now.

Vantec Spectrum Fan Card

Strengths: Two (VERY effective) fans. a 4 pin molex power cord (rather then connecting to a fan header on motherboard) Sweet blue LED's :) one of the most satisfying sounds you'll hear coming from a computer.

Weakness: None. I can imagine that if you have no free PCI slots, that you might have a problem.

Running this "Fan card" on the lowest speed was plenty sufficient for me, even when OC'ing my video card, however if I'm attempting to push my computer to the maximum, then I have the ability to move the fan speed up, this is when I'm blessed with the chance to hear one of the most rewarding, subtle sounds that you most likely can't otherwise get from your computer. Every Gamer and Overclocker should buy this.

Vantec Spectrum Fan Card

Strengths: Keeps everything very cool and really nice blue light.

Weakness: Can be noisy.

Keeps everything very cool and really nice blue light. Has some control in the back with level switch.
Can be noisy, would be nice to have fan control ability from other places in computer.
Still would use in systems that need some cooling. Makes it look good when seen in window.

Colorfly cool

Strengths: Bright lights, fan speed control

Weakness: Bright lights

This is a great product if you need to increase air flow in your case. Only problem for me is that I have a translucent case and the lights are a little too bright. I'd like to have the option of dimming them or turning them off at times. Still a great product though.

Vantec Spectrum PCI Fan Card Review

Strengths: Cools the computer down enough for me.

Weakness: A little too loud.

This is a good item overall and I think it's worth the price. However the noise that it generates can get annoying for those who leave their computer on all the time.

I guess its alright

Strengths: It is prety quiet, can't hear it at all over my turbine of a cpu fan. Seems to move a lot of air. Did drop my cards temp by a few degrees.

Weakness: It would be better if I could have it blow on the other side of my graphics card, but it isn't reversible.

I would recommend this fan to anyone who just wants to drop their card by 2 or 3 degrees, but don't expect massive cooling from it. It might be helpful on a fanless graphics or sound card though.

Great Fan Card

Strengths: Blows lots of air and very quiet

Weakness: none

My case stays pretty cool to begin with, but with this fan card it blows so much air, i can get some very high OC speeds. without very much of temperature rise. everyone could use this card in there pc. also very quiet
