Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV

Strengths: small with good sound

Weakness: base is large in size

This system is fantastic in every way, easy to set up and add to the receiver. The quality of sound reproduction is superb in all areas from listening to a movie on THX to a song. You will not be disappointed in this product, but the only disapointment was the casing. It was accidently fell off to the ground from approximately 1 foot, the case cover has a small rip already. Well, we let it go since it was not too obvious. Too much hassle to return for that reason.

Acoustimass 10 Series IV home entertainment speaker...

Strengths: outstanding clear sound quality, small in desing and easy to set up.

Weakness: Had to purchase separate wireless transmiter for rear speakers, I didn't like cable going around the room. (SL2 -wireless surround link)

The sound quality is just unbelievable, very easy to set up, has different color cables for easy setup. I also purchased Pioneer Elite receiver VSX-92THX that combination is unbelievable, I watched Blu-Ray, THX movies and hooked up iPod, Kids play games on PS3 (RockBand) it blew me away. Each speaker consist of two parts top and bottom and I turned them into different direction to feel room with more sound.

Bose - good speakers

Strengths: Setup was pretty easy, love the small profile of the speakers and the black works well with TV stand and TV that is also black

Weakness: subwoofer - have to plug all the speakers into the subwoofer then run wires to sound source

I have an Onkyo 605 receiver that puts out 90 watts per channel, the cubes can go up to 100 watts. If you are looking for a good 5.1 system and don't plan on going to 7.1 these are good speakers. The wife and I used these speakers to watch Blue-Ray movies using PS3 through Onkyo receiver HDMI pass through with an optical cable for sound, listen to a wide range of music and play a few PS3 games. Where these speakers really perform well is watching movies such as The Matrix and playing games.

Where the speakers start to fall short a little is when you are listening to a wide range of music. The thing most people do not know is that all the speakers have to plug directly into the subwoofer and then the sub connects to the receiver, you can’t connect this system directly to a TV you have to get a receiver.

If you are someone who just wants to watch movies and play video games and listen to some music these are good speakers and your budget is around the $900.00 range, speakers only. I would recommend the Onkyo 605 (CNET pick) and you will have a great setup.

Now if you are looking for very high end you can do better than Bose. We decided to take the speakers back and get speakers that could be directly connect to the receiver giving us a little more flexibility. I would also like to note that my main goal was to get 7.1 not 5.1. So the question is would I buy these again, and the answer is yes if my budget was set at $900.00 dollars and I didn’t want to have 7.1. We decided to go with a higher end set Mirage Nano Prestige 5.0 and Mirage Subwoofer which gets us back to 5.1 but at a cost of $1250.00. Then got the Mirage bookshelf (OMNISAT V2) pushing the price up around $1800.00 but this is for 7.1. Now I listen to this at the store in the sound room with my CD’s and a few movies that the level of sound quality is better than Bose, but at a higher price. If you do some additional research on the internet you will find lots of people love Bose and lots of people hate Bose, I believe it is all preference of how does it sound to the buyer and how much do you want to spend.

I would recommend at least reading this article before you do purchase a set of Bose speakers though www.fanpop.com/externa...

The Best Sounding System

Strengths: Best Sound Great Warranty Many Accessories High Quality Item Bose is the best

Weakness: High Price

I shopped around and did much research on the internet and in stereo stores for the best quality, best sounding and best value speaker system and Bose out performed all the way.

The only issue I had was the high price, but once you take into account their 1 year warranty on the electronics & 5 year warranty on the speakers, the high price becomes more reasonable

The satellite speakers were easily installed in the ceiling and the subwoofer has protective circuitry that protects all the speaker from overload, a real plus to people who have children.

I recommend purchasing this system, if you have any doubts walk into a store and just listen to the quality of the system.

Great Speaker Set

Strengths: This is a great surround set.. The sound quality is just awesome.. Cant beat it.. I now hearinstruments that I was never able to on my floor standing yamaha speakers..

Weakness: - A bit pricey.. but you do get a high quality product..

If you have the budget for it, go for it.. Also dont forget the speaker stands.. I use a 7 year old denon receiver (60 watts per channel), pumped up the volume to the max, but the speakers showed no signs of stress..

Expensive, mainly paying for the name and the...

Strengths: Good sound from small speakers, Speakers are compact

Weakness: Expensive, base unit is too big/long.

I upgraded my 5.1 Sony Surround sound speakers with these and the sound from watching movies is quite a bit better. I mainly went with the Bose because I needed compact speakers. I live in a fairly small condo and do not have the real estate to put up floor standing speakers.

I am not a home audio expert and I am sure you can buy better performing speakers for the money. But, if a compact design is what you need in your home theater then these should work for you.

Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV Home Entertainment...

Strengths: Crystal clear sound and fills the room with low bass! Speakers have a small footprint!

Weakness: Price is somewhat high! You can't expand on the system or upgrade the speakers. Tons of wires!

The Bose Acoustimass 10 Series speaker system is awesome! You have to experience the sound in person to appreciate the craftsmanship and engineering that went behind developing such a system. I've never seen speakers as small as the Bose cubes deliver such rich sound and power. The Bose powered sub pumps out all the low end bass and you'll feel and hear it. Another great thing about this Bose system is that it comes with all the wires and cables so you don't have to go out and purchase additional cables and wires which could cost a lot.

I choose Bose for all my speaker and headphones. Bose is an great company and I've always had a wonderful experience from them from my first purchase some ten years ago. I recently purchased a set of Bose headphones which I'm very happy with and received some notices from Bose that there were some complaints about the headphones and they sent me the updated parts automatically, wow.. how often do you see that happen!

Excellent surround sound system

Strengths: * Strong Base * Small cubes are very powerful

Weakness: * Pricey

I used the onkyo receiver SR605 with this speaker system. The sound came out exceeds my expectation. The base is strong and I am very pleased with the purchase. I have to say that the price is on the high side for the system. However, it's a no brain-er for this purchase given Bose quality.

Amazing sound

Strengths: Get bose sound for not too expensive.

Weakness: Price is still high eventhough it is amazing!

My husband got this system for $764.15 at a local store during the past sales week. We wouldn't have bought it otherwise. I was pretty sceptical paying so much for a surroundsound. I mean it can't be that great. Well I was totally shocked at the amazingness of the sound. It was making the whole upstairs vibrate everytime those orcs attacked Gondor. I was downstairs and I could hear the movie as though I was upstairs in our gameroom. Added to a sharp aquos 46 lcd tv, my husband is in heaven!!!
