Wonderful Bread Maker and Does More

Strengths: Two mixing blades for even dough; "Home Made" options for your own recipes; Solid construction and nice looking;

Weakness: None

This is the first bread maker in our family and we know Zojirushi is a trusted brand. And this machine satisfies us in every aspects. It is one of the few, if not only, bread makers that have two mixing blades. That means the ingredients can be mixed more evenly and the bread may taste better. It is constructed very solid and nice looking that we think worth every penny we've paid.

We were a bit hesitating on this machine first as we did not see it with any presets for less than 2lbs bread / dough -- some other brands / models like Sunbeam 5891 and Panasonic SD-YD250 have different programs for different dough / bread sizes (1 lbs, 1.5 lbs, 2 lbs) etc. -- But after some research we realized that this BBCC-X20 actually provides unlimited options on any sized doughs / breads as it has a "Home Made" mode to let you custom different timings (preheat, mix, bake, etc.). It also lets you to save your settings into up to three programs. We did some easy trial-and-errors and came up with a program for about 0.8 lbs bread and that was more than a self-satisfaction :)

Over all, this is a highly recommended bread maker and we believe it will sit in our kitchen for years!

I want to buy a Zojirushi Breadmaker in the UK - with the correct plug and voltage. I cannot find where to buy one however. Can anyone who posts so enthusiastically about the make tell me where they bought it from

Bread Machine

Strengths: Every loaf of bread I have baked so far has been really good, even when using recipes not found in the Zojirushi book.

Weakness: None so far.

I have used other bread machines in the past, but this is the best one for whole grain breads. Evidently the motor is stronger and the dual paddles seem to help also. I also like the "regular" shape of the loaves for making sandwiches.

Zojirushi BBCC-X20 Breadmaker Review

Strengths: Produces well knead & textured bread with excellent crust control feature. Easy to use program cycles and the control pad is well laid out. Bread pan is easier to remove/reinstall than other models.

Weakness: A tad noisy. No other negatives noted.

The first two loafs came out beautiful. The wheat and multi-grain cycles produce even textured loafs with a rich crust texture. Our first breadmaker was also a Zojirushi (single paddle), but it did not produce the quality loafs this one does. The duel paddles obviously make the difference. That unit lasted about 8 years of fairly heavy use. In the interest of frugality, we subsequently purchased a Sunbeam which was a mastake. It lasted about 1-1/2 years and never produced the bread quality that the original Zojirushi did. Thus, we learned the hard way that it pays to spend a little more and get a quality product. While we've only had the new machine about a weak, its obvious that this unit is top quality and a state-of-the-art breadmaker. It is easy to use, has a user-friendly control panel, and has produced excellent quality loafs thus far. Other than being a tad noisy, it is far superior than all them machines we've owned to date. It therefore comes with our highest recommendation to other prospective buyers.

The Machine of Machines?

Strengths: Power, Duel-mixing arms, Easy to use, beautiful and tasty breads

Weakness: Pan coating is delicate

When I purchased my Zo machine, this was my first time to ever use a bread machine. I've always been hesitant to buy one because all of the loaves I've tasted from other people's machines have been either extremely dry, or the crust was so hard it was a chore to chew. The consistency of the bread from those machines was also more like chewing an eraser as well--not the way fresh bread should be.

Several months ago I decided to invest in a machine (for various reasons). My search then began by reading all the reviews I could about bread machines. I knew what I didn't like about them, and I sort of had an idea about what kind of features I wanted to have--two things being a horizontal loaf rather than vertical, and the other being that the loaf tasted as close to regular homemade bread as possible.

So many times I kept coming back to the Zo machine. People were raving about it and said that it was the best-of-the-best. (Being a newbie to the whole bread machine experience, that was exactly what I wanted to hear.) Some even said they've been using their machine for 10-15 years, and that it has never once given them any problems. I had to give it a try, and was I ever glad I did!

Since I'd never used a bread machine before, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I was quickly at ease after watching the instruction video that is included with the machine. The machine's features are simple and easy to use (especially to a newbie like me). There are three programmable settings which I use often--they are so handy.

One thing I love most about this machine is that you can use freshly ground grains with no problem (most other machines can't handle it). This machine performs beautifully with such grains. You only need to make sure to grind the flour on the finest setting, otherwise the bread won't turn out very well. If you use freshly ground whole-wheat in your bread, be sure to use gluten (it makes all the difference)!

You can make bread, cakes, jam and even meatloaf in this machine.

If the mixing arms get caught and won't allow you to get the bread out of the pan, simple turn the pan over, and with a hot pad, turn the "knobs" on the bottom a little bit, and it should release it right away.

As far as the taste and texture of the bread, it is the best I've ever had from a bread machine. It tastes very nearly like "normal" homemade bread, and is soft and easy to chew (like bread should be!).

I'm overall very pleased with my investment. Though the price was a bit steep, the quality of bread and product, and easy of use was well worth it! I now see why so many people loved their machines. I would buy another one again in an instant.

If you decide to buy one, you'll not be disappointed.

Makes a difference in loaf quality

Strengths: Build quality, Loaf consistency

Weakness: Pricey

To my surprise, after a few loaves baked I could see a definite difference in the quality of bread (uniformity of gas bubble size, non-stratification of loaf consistency) when using this machine compared to others I own or use, such as B&D, toastmaster and Breadman.
It is on the pricey side, but Rudy got me the best price around.
From the quality of this machine's parts I expect a long useful service life.

I am having a problem with whole wheat bread and bread machines.
Has anyone had the same problem, the breads crust is rock hard and I use the light crust setting. If there is a special receipe for whole wheat bread in break makers I would love to have it.

Good Bread

Strengths: Uniform loaf of bread, simple to use, high quality machine, looks good in the kitchen

Weakness: A little pricy, would be nice to have a cooling cycle.

The first thing you notice is that this bread maker makes a nice uniform loaf of bread. Other bread makers I have used made the upright loaf and the bottom part was a lot denser than the top. This one makes a traditional looking loaf of bread that has the same density at the top as at the bottom. The respites included are easy to follow and produce excellent results. The warming cycle at the beginning is a nice feature and I feel confident contributes to the excellent quality of the bread. If you like home made bread this machine is the way to go.

Suggestion for whole wheat bread...READ ON

Strengths: 3 programable settings, 2lb loaf, excellent quality

Weakness: price

The most common complaint I hear about this machine is the way whole wheat bread turns out. Our first loaf was like a brick, only worse. Then I discovered the 2-stage method at the following link:http:

Zojirushi Home Bakery System BBCC-X20 fails at my...

Strengths: Large normal shaped loaf

Weakness: Loafs were consistently poor. They were good at first & steadily have gotten worse. In fact I stopped using it because the bread would raise so inconsistently. Well overpriced for how well it workds.

Zojirushi claimed that the bread would get better the more I used it. The opposite turned out to be true. No where as nice as my West Bend models at 1/3 the price. I have not had a good time with this bread maker. I changed yeast several times to see if that would help. I wonder what everyone else does that I don't do. Actually giving this 1 star is overrating it.

It's the best gift I've ever gotten. I love it!

Strengths: It is so easy to make bread any kind of bread. And, they have all tasted great. Including wheat, the trick is to replace a cup of wheat with white. it makes the bread a bit lighter.

Weakness: none

I love my bread maker. I make a loaf a bread a week for my husband and myself. If was a gift from my Mom for Christmas. It's the best bread machine ever made.

Bread like that from a machine!

Strengths: Ease of use, excellent quality of finished product, no noise.

Weakness: Unit is large so ample counter space is needed

I totally love this bread maker! I balked at the price, but now think it does everything I wanted and more. The texture of the bread was excellent. I was able to make bread within no time after taking the unit from the box. The directions could use a quick start cheat guide or a laminated instruction sheet--but are functional as they are.

Love my ZO!!! BBCC-X20

Strengths: Easy, Standard Loaf (not 'bucket loaf'), Larger 2 lb. loaf, plus too much to list!

Weakness: None so far!

I love this machine! My very first loaf... too easy... set the delay timer to have fresh bread for dinner (6 hours out)... put in all the ingredients... and, at dinner time, the loaf was beautiful and delicious! I loved checking through the window here and there to see how it was looking during the process! Cleanup was a breeze!

I will be making some pretzel dough next! My daughter is anxious to mix up some pizza dough and have a 'pizza night'! I also am looking forward to some fresh cuban bread, as it isn't something you can buy around here!

Great machine!

Zojirushi Home Bakery System BBCC-X20

Strengths: Durable and quiet.

Weakness: Cost

I have only had this 3 short weeks before you requested feedback. However from everything I can tell it seems to be very good quality machine. It is quiet, easy to clean and has produced a couple of good loaves of bread so far. I would love to give you feed back in a year or so after I have owned it a little longer. As of for now, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Zojirushi Home Bakery System BBCC-X20`A great Machine

Strengths: double paddles for mixing

Weakness: none so far

I have used other brand bread machines for several years. This, so far, is by far the best. I love the double mixing paddles. The bread is less coarse than other machines. It is faster, and very quiet. Very easy to use. Would reccomend it to novice users as well as advanced users. Am 100% pleased.
