Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Men's Rubber Watch

Strengths: Small enough for the not so large person. Can be used as a dive watch where all the functions are available even while under water. Good alarm.

Weakness: It doesn't have dual time.

It is tough will a light for seeing time at night and the buttons can be operated under water. Some so called dive watches will not allow the buttons to be pushed under water.

I like the watch, it hasn't given me any problem. I would buy it again if I have to.

Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Men's Rubber Watch

Strengths: Very Tough watch, long life battery.

Weakness: NONE

I have had this old Casio DW5600 for about 15 years or more.
I am in construction type work and this watch can take a beating and still it keeps on running. Same saying as the OTHER watch company. Plus I come home and jump into my pool with it on without a thought.
Now my old Casio watch is kinda broken, NO crystal But still keeps the time for me setting there on my dresser. I hate to just throw it away because it still works. I think I paid $30.00 for it years ago and now I can find it for about same price. One of the Best watches I have ever owned. That's why I am looking for another at the right price.

Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Men's Rubber Watch

Strengths: Not too bulky, yet durable.

Weakness: Hard time reading the digital display with polarized sunglasses.

This watch is exactly what is advertised. A good purchase for the money. I would recommend this watch to anyone who is rough on a watch, but wants it to look fashionable.

Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Men's Rubber Watch

Strengths: Light, tough, covers all the basics.

Weakness: Not the most stylish watch out there.

If you're looking for durable watch that does all the basics, then you can stop right here. I just purchased my second DW5600 and still haven't been let down by my first. It's extraordinarily light and thin for a G-Shock. The only downside is that it might not be on the cutting edge of style, but then why mess with a classic and proven design?

classic watch!

Strengths: keeps time accurately; includes all basic functions; can be worn during swimming and even diving, can be operated in water!; quite small and lightweight (relative to other G-shock).

Weakness: not very fashionable, advertised battery time (2 years) is somewhat short (although still dont know how long my battery can last).

strongly recommend this classic G-shock watch to those needing reliable performance, basic functions and enough water-proof ability, especially those are not so big persons. if seeking for fashion, better to consider other better-looking G-shock or other brands.

This is my second Casio G-Shock. The first one...

Strengths: Very durable watch

Weakness: Absolutely none......

I only use the watch part....not any of the other extras and my battery lasted 13 years. My first one cost nearly double this one and it is identical. Highly recommend this watch.

A Staple Casino You Can Always Count On

Strengths: The Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock is a solid watch. It continues to work without failure.

Weakness: The accuracy of timekeeping is adequate, but it would be nice to see it improved.

I have had this watch before, and remains to be a staple watch for me. I like the simplicity and "geek" factor it produces as it is a watch from the 80's. One quirky note to add, if you ever happen to lick the watch band it has a funny taste.

The original G-Shock, the DW5600E-1V

Strengths: There is no replacement for the original. Clean, simple, enduring, and powerful. Delivers an image of self-confidence, self-control, and self-assurance.

Weakness: None at this price level.

The latest thoroughbred G-Shock hits a homerun. It retains the unmistakable image of the original G-Shock, first introduced in 1983. After a quarter of a century, the design of the watch is as endurable as the watch itself. Like a Rolex, it is instantly recognizable, delivers a powerful message about the person who wears it, and keeps time to great accuracy. All at a fraction of the cost of a Rolex. It's no wonder that G-Shock claims Sting among its enthusiastic followers.

Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Men's Rubber Watch

Strengths: Good durable watch. Simple design, not too much clutter. 200 meter water resistant. Nice watch for every day use.

Weakness: None

This is the third G-Shock watch I've bought. The other two have the same features, but I like this one for its clean design.

DW5600E-1V Men's Watch

Strengths: Previous watch and battery of same type lasted 10 years.

Weakness: The first time I took the new watch into a swimming pool it failed and stopped working.

I have taken my previous Casio G-Shock watch scuba diving in water as cold as 32 degrees and as deep as 100 feet without problems. It lasted at least 10 years before the battery finally gave up. The owners manual states expected battery life is 2 years based on 3.5 seconds of light operation and 20 seconds of alarm operation a day. I didn't use these features daily so that helped me extend the battery life.

See weakness for the new one I purchased. I am contacting Casio and the retailer and will update my review if satisfied.

the classic one, reborn!

Strengths: classic and now it has a full screen that gets illuminated, rubber feel, neat and simple interface

Weakness: could have more functions

It's your favorite watch that you had in the 80s reborn with a new, brighter full indigo face in blue. It all started with this watch since it was the only watch that was tough enough to withstand any type of shock. It's got some weight, but not too heavy, and feels strong and secure.

Indestructable and cheap

Strengths: Has all the basics, timer, stopwatch, luminous, date, alarm, 200m WR, can be used under water, indestructable

Weakness: Not very pretty, a work watch, not a dress watch, strap needs replacing every few years if abused

I have an ancient DW-5600 that I bought in 1991, when the G-Shock line was new. I was in the military, needed a cheap, all-purpose watch that I could take diving or to work. I paid $40 for it, and after 16 years and some wear and tear, I still trust this thing underwater. It looks like Casio has improved the light feature, which is weak on mine, and another review says it has no dual-time, but mine has it. The plastic outer case has chipped off near the strap hinges, and the crystal has some scratches, but short of taking a direct hammer hit to the crystal, I don't know how to kill it.
