A Kettle I love but won't buy again...Strengths: Quick boil, clear fill level window, easy to clean Weakness: Just won't last with heavy use Really love having an electric kettle, as my wife drinks hot tea all day long. That being said, I have found that the Krups just won't hold up with heavy use. I have bought four of these units(one as a gift), as they are really easy to use and don't look bad on the counter. But the two that get heavy use (8 - 10 times a day) started to leak within a few months. The one I got for my lake place that only gets occasional use is fine. The one we use a lot at home (and the replacement I bought when it failed) leaks all around the base. My first one lasted about 5 months before it began to leak. The replacement began the same leaking around its base in less than two months. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Krups Electric Tea KettleStrengths: Boils water very quickly. Golder filter. Weakness: No signal to let you know when water boils I bought Krups electric tea kettle about 8 years ago. Never had any problem with it. I really like it. I clean its golden filter using coca-cola. Will buy same brand again. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Krups FLF2 Electric Tea Kettle
Strengths: boils water quickly thanks to 1750 watt heating element
Weakness: A little bit pricey, no bell to let you know when water boils
I bought Krups FLF2 electric tea kettle to replace my old Philips one that quit working after over 5 years. So far, I have to say I liked my Philips model more. It held more water, had a bell to let me know when my water was ready and was over $20 cheaper. It seemed to be better built too, so I wonder how long my Krups model will last. Krups kettle holds 7 cups and I have to admit that it boils water fast. Boiled water had strange plastic taste and smell after boiling and discarding water twice in my kettle as recommended by manufacturer. Boiling water with two teaspoons of baking soda took care of this problem.
