Cannon HF 200 CamcorderStrengths: Low price HD Camcorder Weakness: Video Storage and Software The software provided with the camera is not user friendly. The mts file type is difficult to work with and the playback quality from the files transfered to my computer is jerky and unacceptable. I own a cannon Rebel XSi SLR camera which I love. I expected similar usabilty from the HF 200 and was sorely disappointed. I would not reccommed this camcorder due to the file format and software.

Canon Vixia HF200
THE GOOD: Broad manual feature set unusual in a camcorder its size; excellent video quality; attractive, functional design. THE BAD: Relatively expensive. THE BOTTOM LINE: While its more expensive than its sub-$600 competitors, the Canon Vixia HF20 and Vixia HF200 deliver a more extensive feature set for the extra money. The HF200, which lacks internal memory, is probably a better buy than the... Top

Great Camcorder
Strengths: Excellent picture quality, great price, easy to use
Weakness: Still photos only fair compared to point and shoot digital cameras
This is a great camera. Connected to HDTV via HDMI cable gives brilliant picture quality. I have not worked with included software but transfer to my MacPro and iMovie is easy. Since this is an HD camera, it will require more computing power so the jerky playback on the other reviewer's PC has everything to do with computer speed/graphic card capability and not the camera. Excellent value for the...
